Otoplasty refers to a procedure that will change the shape, placement, or proportion of the ears. It is one of the few cosmetic procedures that may be performed in children or minors in addition to adults to keep children from being bullied or self-esteem issues as they grow up. The goal of the surgery is to set a prominent ear back to a more appropriate position and/or restore a more normal ear contour. Otoplasty surgery leads to correction of ear shape and position with immediate results and permanent improvement to maximize facial harmony and symmetry.
